Port Ghalib

General Information


Port Ghalib is located 10 minutes by car to the airport of Marsa Alam, 78km from Cairo city and 200km from Hurghada. There are also many charter flights provided by tour operators, landing directly on Marsa Alam’s airport, the nearest one to Port Ghalib.

Port Ghalib was created by the Kuwaiti company “MA Kharafu Group”. The company was founded 100 years ago by one of the richest millionaires of Kuwait: Mohamed Mohs Carafa who, in his country is on the 12th place and on the 26th in the World.

Port Ghalib had doubtless changed the idea that Egypt was the destination of low-class tourists, and was called the Egyptian Monaco.

In Port Ghalib there are luxurious hotels, first class services, and includes structures as:
-    4* hotel “MARINA LODGE”

The rooms’ number is approximately around 1000 and all of them are furnished according to the Arabian style and each one has its own unique design.

The planning of the city engaged World’s best architects as for example Francois Spoerry, EDAW and Sogreah. The marketing consultancy service provided an international acknowledged group as KPMG. The main architects of WAT & G International, developed a conceptual planning of the city. Once they thought about the design, they got inspired by Egypt’s history. According to the environment’s standards, plans had been developed in cooperation with Enviro-Pro SWRC and Conserve ECO.

Port Ghalib will contain 9 villages built in different styles. All village’s hotels will have a wonderful sea view with wonderful sandy beaches and crystal-clear water.
In the city there will be also 19 hotels, yacht clubs, a congress center which can accommodate 2000 delegates, a golf course with 18 holes, the second largest artificial Laguna made by salty water and typical Egyptian coffee shops.

Even works are not completed yet, the city is already habitable and is totally in harmony with the environment.

The entire Port Ghalib’s city can be devided in the following sections:
1.    Marina village: apartments starting from 2450$ according to the position. Rental services available with 15% of income, and the owner will have the apartment a month per year. There are studios available from 40 until 80 m2, one bedroom apartments from 87 until 140m2, two bedrooms apartments from 112 until 291 m2, three bedrooms apartments from 148 until 243 m2.

2.    Coral reef village: there are for sale 5 land’s sections. The smallest section, the number 2 is made by 11.000 m2. The biggest section, the number 5, is made by 97.000 m2. In section number 1 there’s a German sanatorium. The value of lands ranges from 400 to 600$ per sq m. Land n 4 is on the sea and it has a wonderful beach, a wonderful seafront view and beautiful reeves. This land is planned to build modern villas with large windows facing the sea on the first line, on the second line beautiful chalet. There’s also the chance to build a hotel but just the 40% of the land is building.

3.    Tower village:  is composed by apartments for sale for 6000 LE per sq m. There are the following types of apartment: one bedroom apartments of 87m2, two bedrooms apartments from 119 to 124 m2, 3 bedrooms apartments from 130 to 160 m2. Payment plans: 20% upon contract’s sign, 5% every three months for 4 years. On the land of Tower Village there are also lands with the value of 350$ per sq m. A part of the land was already used to build a residential complex.

4.    Emak village: plots of land for 150$ per m2 are available to build services structures and shopping centers. The minimum extension is 2000m2, the maximum one is 6000m2.

5.    High Land Golf Estate: this section has a million m2 for 250-450$ per m2. This land is designed to build villas, compounds or hotels. A golf course with 18 holes has been designed. Investors have an installments system until 6-7 years.
